The Director, International Export Officer, Mrs. Uduak M. ETOKOWOH with Deputy Director, Corporate Services, Mr. Babatunde Olusegun Faleke accompanied by other staff of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) visited the Tanzania High Commissioner, H. E. Dr. Benson A. Bana at the Chancery on 21st April, 2021 to discuss about collaboration on training NEPC staff in Kiswahili (Cultural Diplomacy).
The nature of the role that the NEPC plays requires that its officials can interact with Kiswahili speakers in East and Southern Africa. In view of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) arrangement being push forward by the Africa Union, we foresee Kiswahili creating a platform for integration.
Currently, about 40 staff of the NEPC has indicated interest to learn Kiswahili. Equipping the officers with basic Kiswahili skills for easy levels of communication will facilitate their interactions with their counterparts who are Kiswahili speakers
