Today, 3rd May, 2023, H. E. Dr. Benson Bana, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Togo, was honored to represent Hon. Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax (MP), Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, at the First Ministerial Conference of the African Political Alliance (APA) in Lomé, Togo.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the participating countries discussed: (i) Africa’s current political and diplomatic challenges in the international scene; (ii) Contemporary issues on Pan-Africanism and African renaissance, and (iii) Challenges of peace and security in Africa with a view to strengthening cooperation and building endogenous capacities to respond to threats, particularly terrorism.
The opening session of the conference was graced by H.E. Mrs. Victoire Tomegah-Dogbe, Prime Minister of the Republic of Togo. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs. Judica Nagunwa, Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of Chancery.
